Test Bay with minimum dimensions.

Width 4200mm with 600mm between any equipment. This will include the Power Pack on the lift.

Headroom 3200mm and 4800mm above the surface of a Lift.

The headroom must extend a further 500mm further than the outer edges of the Lift Platforms.

The headroom must extend a further 500mm further than the front edges of the Lift Platforms and 1.0 metre from the rear edge of the Lift Platforms.

Area to be level and true.

Headlamp test standing area to 4500mm long and 2500mm wide and level to within +/- 6mm. Tester rails to be certified parallel to +/- 2mm of standing area plane and may be recessed into floor. A clear durable headlamp datum line to be marked.

A minimum clearance of 600mm between any part of lift and adjacent wall to be provided and al least 4200mm between centres of adjacent equipment.

Before altering any buildings or installing equipment contact the local Vehicle Inspectorate Office to ensure proposals are acceptable
